This GIC Lecturer Recruitment 2025 Drive is aimed at filling lecturers vacancies in government inter -colleges (GIC) across Uttar Pradesh. The total number of vacancies is expected to be around 1658, of which 836 vacancies are for women and 822 vacancies are for men. UP GIC Lecturer Eligibility Criteria 2025 amended

The Uttar Pradesh government has changed the rules for lecturer recruitment. According to the new guidelines, the revised GIC lecturer eligibility criteria are given below.

• Bed. Discount: A B.Ed. The degree is no longer compulsory for some subjects, especially: home science (female), sewing (female), art (male), commerce (male), and military science (male).
• Removed subjects: Geology (male) and engineering (men) are no longer involved for recruitment.
• History theme Explanation: Postgraduate degrees in ancient history, medieval history and modern history are now clearly valid for history lecturer positions.
• No “equivalent” section: The previous “equality” rule, which can cause delay, has been removed. The degree name to avoid ambiguity is now clearly explained.
• Compulsory B.Ed: A B.Ed. The degree recognized by NCTE is now mandatory for all other lecturer posts (except disciplined subjects), without any minimum marks requirement.

Educational qualification

Specific subject-wise eligibility criteria, as well as B.ED requirement. Degree (where applied), as follows:

• Sociology, Geography, Economics, Civil Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Persian, Darshan, Music: A postgraduate degree is required in a subject related to a recognized university and B.Ed. Degree recognized by NCTE.
• History: Ancient history, medieval history, or a graduate degree in modern history from a recognized university requires a postgraduate degree and a B.Ed. Degree recognized by NCTE.
• biology: A postgraduate degree in botany or zoology is required from a recognized university and a B.Ed. Degree recognized by NCTE.
• Education: Postgraduate degrees in psychology or education with LT diplomas require a graduate or postgraduate degree in education from a recognized university.
• Hindi: Postgraduate degrees are required in Hindi, Bachelor of Arts with Sanskrit, and a B.Ed. Degree recognized by NCTE.
• physical education: A graduate degree from a recognized university and a mpl is required. In physical education.
• Home Science: Home Science requires postgraduate degree or B.Sc. In home science from a recognized university.
• Drawing and painting: Drawing degrees are required in drawing and painting from a recognized university.
• Business: Postgraduate degrees are required in commerce.

Age limit

Candidates who will apply for UP GIC recruitment 2025, their minimum age should be 21 years and maximum 40 years of age. Age rest for reserved categories will also be provided by the Uttar Pradesh Staff Selection Commission as per the government norms.
