Gate Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech
- Candidates who pass the gate exam can apply for M.Tech courses in various IITs, NITs and IIITs, and select CFTIS. There is no separate counseling process especially for the gate.
- To go to M.Tech courses in IITs, candidates are required to register for the GATE examination through the general proposal acceptance portal (COAP). This process is done separately and the instructions given to the candidates should be followed.
- Those who want to join NITs, IIITs and some CFTI for M.Tech programs will have to apply for M.Tech 2026 (CCMT) through centralized consultation.

- SC/ST Category: SC/ST candidates need to upload valid proof documents to get a discount on the application fee. Only certificates issued by authorized officers will be accepted.
- Dyslexic candidate: Dyslexic candidates should submit a certificate from the authorities, stating their conditions to reach the services of a scribe.
