AP TET Eligibility Criteria, Check Qualification and Age Limit


CSEAP has released the eligibility criteria for AP TET exam along with Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test Notification PDF. Candidates should read this article in detail to ensure their AP TET eligibility. AP TET Eligibility Criteria

The Commissioner of School Education, Andhra Pradesh (CSEAP) has scheduled to conduct the AP TET examination at various centers in several districts of Andhra Pradesh as well as in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Odisha. The exam known as AP TET 2025 will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The official notification contains the dates of APTET exam 2025.

Andhra Pradesh TET Eligibility Criteria

Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) application form for October 2025 cycle is open on the official website. All applicants are requested to read the AP TET eligibility criteria carefully before filling the application form. AP TET exam is conducted for regular schools as well as special schools. In regular schools, candidates can apply for AP TET for classes 1 to V and classes VI to VIII. In special schools, candidates can also apply for AP TET for classes 1 to V and classes VI to 8.

AP TET Eligibility for Regular Schools

For the convenience of the candidates, the educational qualification for APTET 2025 Paper I and II is given below:

12th class with at least 50% marks and 2 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Class 12th with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)(OR)
12th class with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)

Bachelor’s and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
(Or)
Post Graduate with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three year integrated B.Ed/M.Ed.
At least 50% marks in Graduation or Post Graduation with B.Ed.

Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor of Education as per NCTE

AP TET Eligibility 2025 for Special Schools

Following are the educational qualifications for a particular school for the candidates appearing for APTET Paper I and II Part B:

Class 12th with any category of disability and one year Diploma in Special Education (DSE).

Diploma in Community-Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with 6 months certificate course in the education of children with special needs.
(Or)
Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with 6 months certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs.
(Or)
Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with 06 months certificate course in education of children with special needs.
(Or)
Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf.
(Or)
Primary level teacher training course in visual impairment.
(Or)
Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation – Mental Retardation (DVR-MR)/ Diploma
Vocational Training and Employment in – 06 Months Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs with Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR).
(Or)
Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with 06 months certificate course in the education of children with special needs.
(Or)
Class 12th passed with any RCI recognized qualification, minimum 1 year duration and 06 months certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs.
(Or)
Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI.
B.Ed with one year Diploma in Special Education. (Special Education)/ B.Ed. Graduation with (General)

Or

Graduate with B.Ed. (General) Two Year Diploma in Special Education

Or

B.Ed. (General) and Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGDC)

Or

Graduate with PG Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation)

Or

Graduate with PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disabilities: Physical and Neurological)

Or

Graduation with PG Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy)

Or

Graduate with Secondary Level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment/Senior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf

Or

BA B.Ed. in visual impairment

Or

Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI.

APTET Eligibility for Language Teachers

To be eligible as a language teacher, candidates must have completed graduation with the concerned language as one of their optional subjects. Alternatively, they may have a bachelor’s degree in Oriental languages ​​or its equivalent, or may have completed graduate studies in literature. Post Graduate Degree in the concerned language and Bhasha Pandit Training Certificate or B.Ed. with the concerned language. Candidates with following are also eligible.

Candidates must be 18 years and above to become eligible for AP TET exam 2025. There is no upper AP TET age limit as per AP TET eligibility criteria 2025. Candidates must ensure that they are 18 years of age or above to apply for the AP TET exam 2025.
