Selection process for recruitment of Punjab and Haryana High Court 2025
The selection process begins with a 60 -digit computer -based test (CBT), with 60 multiple choice questions on English composition and general knowledge. Each question has 1 digit, no negative marking, and the test lasts for 1 hour. If CBT is held in several innings, the score will be normalized (as stated on page 7), and a merit list will be prepared. Based on this, candidates will be shortlisted up to three times the number of vacancies for the next round: English shorthand and transcription test and spreadsheet test. If many candidates have the same score as the final shortlisted candidate, then they will also be called for these tests. It is important to note that simply taking CBT is not guaranteed to selection for the next stage, and CBT marks will not count in the final qualification.
Shortlisted candidates will then take two Tests:
- English shorthand and transcription test: Candidates will have to write dictation on 80 words per minute in English shorthand and type it on 20 words per minute on the computer. More than 8% of mistakes will cause disqualification.
- Spreadsheet test: This is a qualification test of 10 minutes and 10 digits. To pass, a candidate must score at least 4 points (40%).
