Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) is a certificate course conducted twice a year by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). CAIIB is for banking and financial professionals who have JAIIB certification. The primary goal of the CAIIB examination is to provide IIBF members with advanced knowledge in risk management, credit management, international banking, balance sheet management, economic analysis and other areas, enabling them to make informed decisions in their professional roles.

IIBF CAIIB 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Following are the criteria to be eligible for IIBF CAIIB exam,
- Applicants must be eligible to appear for the Associate Examination or Part 1 of the JAIIB Examination.
- Applicant must be an IIBF member.
- The candidate’s membership must not have expired.
CAIIB 2025 Exam Pattern
Candidates are required to be familiar with the exam pattern. Knowing the exam format lets candidates know how many questions, marks and how much time it will take.
CAIIB exam consists of four compulsory papers i.e. Advanced Bank Management, Bank Financial Management, Advanced Business and Financial Management, and Banking Regulation and Business Law.
- There are 5 optional papers out of which candidates have to choose one option of their choice. Optional subjects include- Rural Banking, Human Resource Management, Information Technology and Digital Banking, Risk Management and Central Banking.
- Each paper will have 100 questions with maximum marks of 100 marks. There is no provision of negative marking for CAIIB Exam 2025. The duration of the examination for each compulsory paper is fixed at 2 hours.

CAIIB 2025 Passing Criteria
- To pass in each subject of CAIIB it is necessary to obtain minimum 50 marks out of 100.
- Candidates who obtain minimum 45 marks in each subject and 50% marks in aggregate in a single attempt will also be considered successfully qualified for the examination.
CAIIB Exam Medium
For CAIIB exam, candidates can choose between Hindi and English as their preferred language. Candidates must fill the application form completely, mentioning their preferred language, as subsequent amendments will not be accepted.
IIBF CAIIB 2025 Deadline
A candidate can appear for the examination a maximum of five times in a period of three years starting from the date of registration. When a candidate registers for the first examination, the limit of 3 years or five attempts, whichever is earlier, begins.
It is not necessary that efforts be made one after the other. If a candidate is unable to qualify the exam within the allotted time, he or she will have to re-enrol for the CAIIB exam. Similarly, if candidates have not used all the five attempts and three years have passed, they will have to enroll again for additional attempts.
A candidate can apply for any five of the six CAIIB examinations conducted during a period of three years. Re-enrolment is required if an applicant uses all five attempts before the three years are over.
CAIIB 2025 Exam Center
At the time of registration, banking and financial sector employees will have to choose the examination center of their choice. After completion of CAIIB Application Form 2025, the venue code and address will be notified on the admit card of the candidates.
