The SBI PO 2025 notification has been officially released, and the application window is open from 14 June to 14 July 2025. As candidates for one of the most competitive banking examinations in the country, many come from diverse academic backgrounds, some are graduates, others are postgraduates, and some are still following their final year studies. And among all these different profiles, a question continues every year: can the final year students apply for SBI PO? Let’s clean the confusion.
Final year students can apply – but with a condition
Yes, students from the final year or final semester are allowed to apply for SBI PO 2025, but only provisionally. According to the official notification, the candidates would have graduated on or before on 30 September, 2025. This means that if you are currently in your last semester and are convinced that your results will be declared before the said date, then you are eligible. However, at the time of document verification or interview, you will need to produce a valid proof, either a degree certificate, mark sheet, or an provisional certificate, confirming that you have approved your graduation till the cutoff date.
This provision extends to those who follow the integrated dual degree (IDD), provided that the final passing date is on or before September 30, 2025. Even Chartered Accountants (CAS) are eligible under the same time.
Age limit for SBI PO
While there is some flexibility in educational qualification, age limit does not come with any provisional section. You will have to strictly meet the age norms by April 1, 2025 without exception. No rest is provided for the candidates waiting for age eligibility. Whether you are a final year student or a postgraduate, if your age is not within the permissible limit, you are not eligible to apply. Here you need to get the category-wise age limit:
Social class | Age limit / relaxation |
minimum age | 21 years (born on or before April 1, 2004) |
Maximum age | 30 years (born on or after April 2, 1995) |
OBC | 3 years discount (maximum up to 33 years) |
SC/ST | 5 years discount (maximum up to 35 years) |
PWBD (ur/EWS) | 10 year discount |

What are the minimum marks required for SBI PO?
Here some relief has been given for all academic profiles, SBI does not give any minimum percentage in graduation for PO recruitment.
Whether you have approved your exams or graduated with flying colors, all candidates are considered equally eligible as long as they hold a valid degree. There is no cutoff based on marks in the application phase. So yes, if you meet other eligibility criteria, do not let your graduate score back.
