EMRS PGT Eligibility Criteria 2025

The following table islines the eligibility criteria required for the position of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in the Eklav Model Residential Schools (EMRS). Candidates should satisfy all conditions related to age limit and essential educational qualifications which they are applying for a specific subject. Age relaxation applies as per the rules of the Government of India for reserved categories and existing EMRS employees.

PGT (Geography): Master’s degree in Geography or its specialization. Geography must have been studied at graduation level. PGT (Commerce): Master’s Degree in Commerce. Must have studied accounting and business studies at the graduation level. Note: holder of a M.com. Students are not eligible in economics. PGT (Economics): Master’s degree in Economics or its specialization. Must have studied economics at graduation. PGT (Computer Science): Required Qualification: M.Sc. (Computer Science / IT) / MCA / ME or M.Tech. (Computer Science/IT) With at least 50% marks. A B.Ed. Future promotion will require a degree.

EMRS PGT Exam Pattern 2025

EMRS PGT recruitment 2025 follows a two-level selection process to evaluate educational knowledge of candidates, teaching qualifications and language proficiency. Tier I OMR (objective) mode has an initial qualification test, while Tier II is the main subject knowledge test that determines the final qualification for PGT posts. Candidates are required to understand the exam pattern to make their preparation strategic and focus on important classes.

Tier-I-Parambhical Examination (OMR Mode-Kul 100 marks)

Objective: Qualified Examination to Short Candidates for Tier-II.
Components: General Awareness, Logic A capacity, ICT Knowledge, Teaching Qualification, Domain Knowledge (Economic and NEP-2020 based)
Language Qualification (English and Hindi – Qualification in Nature; minimum 40% marks)
Period: 2 hours 30 minutes
Candidates who fail in language qualification testing will not have an evaluation of their tier-I score.

Tier-II-subject knowledge exam

Only shortlisted candidates appear from Tier-I (Ratio 1:10 against vacancies).
Structure: Descriptive questions on objective + subject-specific syllabus.
Marks and duration: 100 digits, 3 hours
Merit: The final selection for PGT Post is completely based on Tier-II performance.
