India’s 5 Actions against Pakistan after Pahalgam terror attack

On 22 April 2025, a terrible terrorist attack in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir shook the entire country. The attack killed 26 innocent tourists and injured many others. India firmly believes that Pakistan -based terrorist groups were behind this cruel act. In response, the Government of India has taken five strong action against Pakistan to send a clear message that such acts will not be tolerated.

Suspension of Indus Water Treaty

One of the most serious steps taken by India is the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty. The treaty signed in 1960 was to ensure proper water sharing between India and Pakistan. But India has now caught this agreement until Pakistan takes concrete steps to support terrorism across the border.

Closure of the attic

India has also closed the Attari Vagah border, which is a major land route for people and goods between India and Pakistan. This action was taken to ban any kind of conversation until the behavior of Pakistan changed. Closed travel, trade and other cross will affect border activities.

Cancellation of SAARC visa exemption

Another strong decision was to cancel the SAARC visa discount scheme for Pakistani citizens. This means that Pakistani citizens who had traveled visa-free under the first SAARC agreement will now have to leave India within 48 hours. This step is aimed at reducing Pakistan’s diplomatic and civil presence in India.

Exposure of Pakistani military advisors

In a major diplomatic move, India has declared all Pakistani military and defense advisors posted in New Delhi as personality non -Gita. These officers have been given a week limit to leave the country. Also, India is remembering its own defense and military officials from the Indian mission in Islamabad.

Decrease in diplomatic staff

India has also announced that it will reduce the strength of its High Commission in Islamabad. By 1 May 2025, the number of Indian diplomatic staff in Pakistan will be brought down from 55 to 30. This step is part of India’s comprehensive plan to cut diplomatic connectivity with Pakistan.
