KTET exam 2025 eligibility criteria
Before applying for KTET exam 2025, candidates should ensure their eligibility in terms of educational qualification and age limit. If the candidates do not meet the eligibility parameters, their application will be rejected. Eligibility standard according to education qualification is as follows:
For Category 1 (Low Primary Class)
Candidates present for Kerala Tate 2025 must be eligible for the following points:-
- According to NCTE (recognition criteria and process) regulations 2002 or higher secondary/ senior secondary (or it is equivalent), at least 45% and 45% in primary education should be passed with a higher secondary/ higher secondary or equivalent with 2-year-old diplomas, which is at least 50% marks and 4-year-old graduates (or it’s equivalent). Or higher secondary/ senior secondary (or it is equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year diploma in education (special education).
For Category 2 (upper primary class)
- Ba/ B.Sc/ B.Com. And 2-year diploma in primary education/ trained teacher certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] Operated by Examination Board, Government. Kerala or its equivalent. Or BA/ B.Sc. / B.com, at least 45% marks and one year in education with a graduate (B.Ed.), according to NCTE (recognition, criteria and procedure), at least 50% marks in this regard or at least 50% marks with the rules or higher secondary/ senior (or its equivalent) and 4 years in primary education (B.EL.ED.). Or higher secondary/ senior secondary (or it is equivalent) at least 50% marks and 4 years B.Sc.Ed or BA ED or B.Sc.Ed.
For Category 3 (High School Classes)
The test is in HSAS: (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Sciences (Xi) Physics (XI) Natural Sciences and (XII) Mathematics
- BA/ BSC/ B.com with at least 45% and B.ED marks. A degree in the relevant subject (is recognized as equivalent from any university in Kerala or from another university)
- For those who have MSC. Ed. In Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, NCERT is not less than 50 percent of a regional institutions of regional education funded by NCERT, which will be eligible to apply for the related subject matter. For subjects of botany and zoology, with MSc. Ed., Ed. It is possible to apply for a degree in life science with no less than 50% from any regional institutions of education.
- SC/ST and candidates of different categories will be provided with a discount of 5% marks in the minimum qualification points. OBCs and OEC categories candidates will be given a discount of 3% in qualifying marks to appear for K-Tet III.
For Category 4
For language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to upper primary level), specialist teachers and physical education teachers (up to high school level)
- Those who have qualified for the posts of language teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu (up to upper primary levels) are eligible to apply for K-Tate IV, expert teacher and physical education teacher mentioned in chapters XXXi of Kerala Education Act and Rules.
- SC/ST and different categories of candidates will be given a discount of 5% marks in the qualifying marks prescribed for eligibility to appear for K -TET IV.
