CTET Marking Scheme

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is an entrance examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India to assess the qualification of candidates for teaching posts in primary and upper primary schools.

The marking system for CTET is as follows:

  • The exam consists of two papers – Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is for candidates who want to teach from class I to V, and Paper II is for candidates who want to teach VIII from class VI.
  • Each paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) of 1 digit.
  • There is no negative marking in the CTET, which means that no marks will be deducted for the wrong answers of the candidates.
  • The total marks for each paper are 150, and the candidates need to score a minimum of 60% (90 digits) to qualify.
  • CTET certificates are given to candidates scoring more than 60% marks, which is valid for a lifetime.

Is there any negative marking in CTET?

No, there is no negative marking in CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test). Candidates will not be punished for wrong answers. This means that candidates can try all the questions for fear of losing marks due to wrong answers.
