CM Mamta Bnerjee assured invalid candidates of age rest
Due to the court’s decision, there is a silver lining for teachers who lost their jobs. The Chief Minister has clearly stated that he will not be left out of the new process. Those who were affected will be allowed to re -apply, even if they have crossed the normal age limit.
More importantly, his teaching experience will not go in vain. It will be kept in mind during recruitment. This is a great relief for many people, who feared that they would have to start from scratches after years of service.
The state government has promised to support these candidates as the law is allowed. While they are following the instructions of the Supreme Court, they are also keeping the door open for a review petition.
Protests continue by invalid candidates in Bengal
Despite these assurances, the situation on the ground is tense. Many teachers who have been terminated are still protesting. They have said that they do not want to appear for another exam and are demanding their jobs without going through a new recruitment process.
Some groups have also announced their plans to protest in Delhi. These teachers feel that the court order is unfair to them, and they want the central government and the judiciary to listen to them.
At the same time, the state government says that its hands are tied. The Chief Minister has mentioned that if they do not issue notification till 31 May 2025, it can be considered contempt of court. So they are going forward with recruitment, while expecting some relief through the legal route.
